Alwan Foundation for Mental Wellness Founder Tiffany Alwan

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Tiffany Alwan spent two years as a therapy and counseling specialist with Psychology Associates of Georgia. In this position, she supported licensed psychologists in developing personalized therapy programs, conducted patient evaluations, and oversaw therapy workshops, among other responsibilities. Between 2017 and 2019, Tiffany Alwan served as a registered nurse in the behavioral health unit at Emory University Hospital. During that time, her duties ranged from patient intake assessments to documenting outcomes for patients living with complex behavioral and psychological conditions.

Ms. Alwan joined Atlanta’s Spectrum Therapy Center as a behavioral health nurse and therapist in 2019. Her activities in this role include running individual and group therapy sessions emphasizing emotional regulation, behavioral modification, and cognitive therapy. She balances her work at Spectrum Therapy Center with her work as the founder of the Alwan Foundation for Mental Wellness, a non-profit dedicated to bringing behavioral therapy services to underserved communities.

Ms. Alwan studied psychology as an undergraduate at American University in Washington, DC. She continued her education at St. Joseph University, earning a master of science in psychology and behavioral sciences. She later earned a nursing degree from the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University.
